SUMMER INDUSTRIES OPENS PLANT IN NEENAH, WISCONSIN

WELCOME, NC AND NEENAH, WI. August 9, 2013 – Summer Industries, a leading manufacturer of paper tubes, cores, and cans made from 100% recycled paperboard, today announced opening a plant in Neenah, Wisconsin. The new plant marks the sixth plant opening in just twelve years for fast-growing Summer Industries, and produces paperboard tubes and cores on proprietary, state-of-the-art manufacturing lines designed and built in-house. With headquarters in North Carolina, Summer Industries also has plants in Florida, Mississippi, New York and North Carolina.

Summer Industries, the country’s largest independent manufacturer of spiral wound tubes, cores, and canisters made from 100% recycled paperboard, serves a variety of industries in the eastern half of the United States, including manufacturers and converters of papers, films, pressure sensitive tapes and labels, metal, foil, strapping, roofing, nonwovens and other textiles. The Neenah plant represents an investment of over $1.5 million, and will create over 20 new manufacturing jobs when the plant is in full operation. Fox Valley industry veterans Peter Emenecker, General Manager, and Scott Meyer, Operations Manager, comprise the leadership team of the new facility.

SUMMER INDUSTRIES COMPLETES PLANT EXPANSION IN BUFFALO

 

CHEEKTAWAGA – Summer Industries, a leading manufacturer of paperboard tubes, cores, and composite cans, has completed its plant relocation and expansion in Greater Buffalo, NY. The new plant site, in Cheektowaga, NY triples the amount of square footage formerly occupied in nearby Tonawanda, NY. Summer Industries, with headquarters in North Carolina, also has plants in Florida, Mississippi, and North Carolina.

Summer Industries, the country’s largest independent manufacturer of spiral wound tubes, cores, and canisters made from 100% recycled paperboard, serves a variety of industries in the Eastern United States, including manufacturers and converters of paper (containerboard, cellulose pulp, tissue, and graphic media), films, textiles, pressure sensitive tapes and labels, as well as shipping and mailing tubes. The plant serving Western New York currently employs 17.

Summer Industries entered the western New York market in 2009 with the acquisition of Tri-Gen Tubes, Inc. In 2012, Summer Industries acquired and renovated an 85,000 square foot facility in nearby Cheektowaga, enabling retention of its highly skilled and responsive employees.

“Fortunately, we have experienced dramatic growth, averaging over 30% annually since entering the market in ’09, which really forced our hand to shop for new space.“ said Summer Industries Vice President Anthony Patterson, “My hat is off to our plant manager, Bob Pattison, and his team for managing such growth out of what was our smallest plant footprint.”

SUMMER INDUSTRIES TO RELOCATE MANUFACTURING PLANT TO KINGSLAND

 

KINGSLAND – Summer Industries, a leading manufacturer of paperboard tubes, cores, and composite cans, has chosen a site in Kingsland as the new home for their plant relocation currently based in Northeast Florida.  Summer Industries, with headquarters in North Carolina, also has plants in Mississippi, New York, and North Carolina.

Summer Industries, the country’s largest independent manufacturer of spiral wound tubes, cores, and canisters made from 100% recycled paperboard, serves a variety of industries in the Eastern United States, including manufacturers and converters of paper (containerboard, cellulose pulp, tissue, and graphic media), films, textiles, pressure sensitive tapes and labels, as well as shipping and mailing tubes.  The plant serving Georgia and Florida currently employs 31 people.
